According to the Greek law an official Charter Party Agreement (CPA) should be signed between the Charterer and the Owner (Broker). Two persons at least on board (skipper and co-skipper) from the Charterer , should hold valid recognised sailing competence certificates for bare boat chartering.
If not issued by an EU member state, certification should carry a translation in Greek or English. An official declaration stating the skipper’s competence may be also required if the port authority considers this necessary. The co- skipper should provide similar certification to the skipper or may otherwise complete and sign a self-declaration for the port authority. Both skipper and co-skipper may also be required to submit a sailing resume to enable us to assess their ability to sail the boat safely.
In case that we ,as Owners, are not convinced that the Charterer has this competency in sailing ,despite their certification, skipper will be available at Charterer’s expense.
